ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE CHAIRS:
Randy Kirner, Commerce & Labor: Reno Republican is considered the expert in his caucus when it comes to reforms in the Public Employee Retirement System.
Melissa Woodbury, Education: The Las Vegas Republican is the daughter of former Clark County Commissioner Bruce Woodbury and taught for 17 years in the Clark County School District, primarily with special-needs children.
John Hambrick, Government Affairs: The Las Vegas Republican is the former chairman of the Nevada Juvenile Justice Commission. Mr. Hambrick will also serve as Speaker of the Assembly
Wes Duncan, Judiciary: The Las Vegas Republican is a former U.S. Air Force officer. Like Gov. Sandoval, he is a graduate of the law school at Ohio State.
Lynn Stewart, Legislative Operations and Elections: The Henderson Republican is a retired high school teacher who was first elected in 2006.
John Ellison, Natural Resources, Agriculture & Mining: The Elko Republican is a former Elko County commissioner and a member of the Elko County Planning Commission. Mr. Ellison will also serve as speaker pro tempore.
Michele Fiore, Taxation: The Las Vegas Republican was first elected in 2012 and did not serve on taxation committee in her first term. Ms. Fiore will also serve as Assembly Majority Leader and will be the first Republican female to serve in that position.
Jim Wheeler, Transportation: The Republican from Minden served on the transportation committee during his first term in 2013.
Paul Anderson, Ways and Means: The Las Vegas Republican was first elected in 2012. He served on the Ways and Means Committee in 2013.
STATE SENATE CHAIRS
James Settelmeyer, Commerce Labor & Energy: The Minder Republican was first elected in 2006 and has served as the chairman of the Nevada State Conservation Commission and Carson Valley Conservation District. He will serve as a “co” whip of the Senate along with Scott Hammond.
Becky Harris, Education: The Las Vegas Republican is in her first Legislature, rarely giving interviews during the 2014 campaign.
Ben Kieckhefer, Finance: The Reno Republican chairs the most influential committee in the senate for the first time. He is also the incoming assistant majority leader.
Pete Goicoechea, Government Affairs: The Republican from Eureka is a former Eureka County commissioner and also served in the Assembly. His district covers much of rural Nevada.
Joe Hardy, Health & Human Services: A medical doctor who was a major in the U.S. Air Force, Hardy is a Boulder City Republican who was first elected to the Legislature as an assemblyman in 2002. He will also serve as president pro tempore of the Senate.
Patricia Farley, Legislative Operations & Elections: The Las Vegas Republican, who owns a concrete, paving and masonry company, was elected for the first time in November.
Don Gustavson, Natural Resources: The Sparks Republican is the senior member of the Washoe GOP delegation. He is a member of the National Rifle Association and Gun Owners of America.
Greg Brower, Judicary: The Reno Republican is a lawyer and former U.S. Navy officer who served as U.S. Attorney for the District of Nevada, 2007-2009.
Michael Roberson, Revenue and Economic Development: The Henderson Republican is also the Senate majority leader. He was the Senate minority leader in 2013 and he will serve as Senate Majority Leader during the 2015 session.
Scott Hammond, Transportation: The Las Vegas Republican has served one term in the Assembly and one in the state Senate. He was named Educator of the Year at Indian Springs High School for the 2001-02 school year. He will serve as a “co” whip of the Senate along with James Settelmeyer.
