I don’t know in how many more ways I have to tell you to go out and vote or how important these primaries and the general election are.
We need to understand that these really are the most important elections, not only for the state, but for the country. If we let a handful of people buy our votes, then we have lost this country.
I know my vote is not for sale. My vote is my voice and I will not give up my right to speak and say what needs to be said.
As I face 10 more days before the June 12thprimary, I keep reflecting on what Thomas Jefferson said: “Should things go wrong at any time, the people will set them to rights by the peaceable exercise of their elective rights.”
Well, the time has come for us to peaceably exercise our elective rights. These are the times Thomas Jefferson was talking about when things are going very wrong.
So, my friends, I am asking you to go out and exercise your right to vote. Vote during early voting or if you feel better, do it on primary day, June 12th, but please go out to vote. And don’t forget to put your “X ON MY X”.
Thanks,
Xiomara “Xio” Rodriguez
