The Republicans voted this weekend to change their Caucus date to February 4th and not maintain their 3rd position. We reached and agreement with the other Democratic parties in the lineup and we’ve set our official date to January 21st to preserve our 3rd position.
NEVADA, SOUTH CAROLINA DEMOCRATIC PARTIES ANNOUNCE NEW 2012 DATES
NEW DATES PROTECT NV, SC EARLY STATES STATUS
NEVADA 3RD IN THE NATION SET FOR JANUARY 21
SOUTH CAROLINA 4TH IN THE NATION SET FOR JANUARY 28
Today, the Nevada and South Carolina Democratic parties released the following joint statement announcing new delegate selection dates that protect the two states’ early state status in the Democratic presidential nomination calendar:
“We are pleased to announce that the Nevada and South Carolina Democratic parties will protect our states’ place in the presidential nominating calendar by beginning the delegate selection process on January 21st in Nevada and January 28th in South Carolina. This announcement ensures that the West and Southeast both will continue to play important roles in determining the President of the United States. Next year, we are pleased to stand firmly behind President Barack Obama as he continues fighting to create good paying jobs, protect Medicare and Social Security and help families struggling to keep a roof over their heads.”
A training session will be held in Fallon NV November 19th, covering how to conduct a County Caucus and responsibilities/duties of Precinct Captains. This will be our opportunity to talk about the caucus and for the state party to provide us with all the materials we’ll need to run our caucuses successfully.
We’re going to need some help from a number of Humboldt County Democrats to enable us to hold the caucus. If you’re willing to help out, please drop us an email with your name and contact information, or call:
K.C. Harrison 775-750-3139 Patrick Henigin 775-623-2306 Vickie Rock 775-623-1029
If you’d like to attend the training on November 19th, let us know that as well.
